These numbers are not built to chase yesterday’s box score. They are forward-looking betting numbers, designed to project what is likely to happen next. Las Vegas remains on top at 108.8, with New York, Minnesota, Dallas, and Atlanta all tightly packed behind the Aces. That top five continues to look like the real championship tier, with very little separating several of the contenders. The Lynx have climbed to 107.0 and are now right on New York’s heels, while Dallas remains elite at 106.2 despite still having room to sharpen.
Golden State continues to grade as a real playoff team, not a cute expansion story. The Valkyries sit sixth at 102.6, ahead of Indiana, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Washington. That is not a typo. The market may still be trying to sort out how good Golden State really is, but our numbers have been clear for weeks.
The biggest downward move is Toronto. The Tempo have dropped to 96.1 because of the prolonged injuries to Kiki Rice and Brittney Sykes. When healthy, Toronto is better than this number, but power ratings are not supposed to grade fantasy rosters. They grade the team expected to take the floor.
At the bottom, Seattle and Connecticut remain in a rough tier of their own. The Storm are down to 90.2, while the Sun sit last at 88.4. Those are not competitive numbers, but quite frankly, the market has mostly caught up with these bottom feeders.
